No Standing…. No Problem!

No Standing…. No Problem! When residents identify a problem like parking too close to a corner that causes turning and visibility issues, contacting your elected council member is the right thing to do. Now whether or not they take action is a different story. Council member Chris Fisher is not afraid to do the work that residents request. Changing parking regulations, adding “No Standing” areas, voting “no” on overriding the tax cap, Chris Fisher is working for you!

Chris' Time in Public Service

While serving in the Army during 9/11, I was intrigued with New York City and the NYPD . After serving in the Army, I went to New York and took the test to become one of New York’s Finest. I got to see things most people only dream about. When the opportunity arose to return to Western New York and continue to be a police officer, I was honored to be able to do something I love and return home. Because of the differences in the pension systems, I was able to file for early retirement with the NYPD before accepting a job as a police officer with the State University Police . I am thankful for my time as a SUNY police officer because I was able to complete a bachelor’s degree and start a master’s degree program with SUNY assistance. After completing my studies, I went on to become a criminal investigator and then senior criminal investigator with the Health Department . My work leads me to partner with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. I still work as a police o...

It’s More Than Just a Parking Sign

It’s More Than Just a Parking Sign When I was campaigning, I promised to make city government work for the people. When a resident reached out with an issue, I began the process to mitigate their situation. Working with the Mayor’s Office, we were able to work collaboratively to accommodate the homeowners. It was something as small as a sign. But this sign is more than just a parking sign. This is a sign that your Councilmember and the Mayor’s Office can give residents and taxpayers the services they want and deserve. Feel free to contact me. I’m here for you, because of you.

Supporting Our Library

Chris has a great relationship with the local library. Not only because the library is in the 2nd Ward, but because Chris is an active user of the library with his seven-year-old daughter. Earlier this year, Chris donated the paint, rocks, and paint brushes to start the “Stella the Rock Snake” art project. Recently, Chris donated the grand prizes for the library’s “Kids Summer Reading Tracker” program which begins June 30, 2025, and ends on August 23, 2025, with the winners of the grand prizes being announced on Monday August 25, 2025. Chris said, “This is a great opportunity to get kids engaged with reading during the summer. I volunteered to donate non-electronic grand prizes to support this great program that Library Director John Gaff has created. Reading is the gift that keeps on giving.”

ENDORSED BY UAW

Generations of my family have worked in the auto industry as UAW represented workers. Thank you to the UAW for recognizing my commitment to unionized labor and for your support in me.

ENDORSED by CWA District 1!

Labor unions recognize when there are pro-union candidates working for the people. I am honored to be endorsed by the hardworking union members of CWA.  Smile for Terri!  (CWA Local 1133 Political Director Terri Legierski, Deceased February 19, 2024).

ENDORSED by the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF)

I’m proud to announce that in 2025, I have again been endorsed by the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF). 50,000 members strong, this endorsement is a great honor. Thank you ~ Chris Fisher

Doing Good in the Neighborhood!

Working with the community, Chris Fisher strives to do good for those around us. Whether it's donating art supplies for a project at the library, writing a check to a worthy cause, or giving a certificate of recognition, Chris Fisher is there!

NO! and I Mean that in a Good Way...

I swore an oath to protect the taxpayers of this city. I vote "No" on many issues. I do this to protect the taxpayers, because I pay what you pay. If the tax cap is overridden, the tax increase that follows could be astronomical!  Sometimes, I have the support of others, but either way, I am not afraid to Vote No! _______________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________

Recognizing People, Celebrating Positivity!

Chris Fisher: Recognizing People, Celebrating Positivity!  Chris recognizes people for the good things they do in the community. Whether it is beautifying their home with hundreds of tulips, celebrating the retirement of a successful career, or turning 102, Chris acknowledges his neighbors.  If you would like to let Chris know of someone that deserves recognition, please email: electchrisfisher@outlook.com

Tonawanda: A Walking Community

Front of the City Cemetery  Front of the City Cemetery  Shaved sidewalks on a residential street.  Getting sidewalks fixed and making Tonawanda a safe place to walk was a priority for Chris. Residents will alert the City when a sidewalk in front of their home needs fixing, but what about area like in front of the cemetery? Second Ward Councilmember Chris Fisher ensured that this treacherous part of public sidewalk was fixed.  Saving money and fixing sidewalks was a tough feat, but Chris Fisher got it done! Working with the City Engineer to employ a new method of sidewalk shaving, residents get their sidewalks fixed and their is a cost savings. Now that is a win-win!
